Young People’s Theatre, Newcastle
Joshua’s passion for theatre began in 2002 when he joined Young People's Theatre in Newcastle. Over the years he immersed himself in every aspect of theatre-making, spending countless Saturdays at the Hamilton theatre exploring everything from acting, lighting and sound, to stage management, coordinating and eventually serving as the theatre’s appointed Technical Officer.
These formative years in community theatre not only sparked a lifelong passion for live performance, but also shaped the practical and collaborative approach he brings to producing today. While his career has since led to productions on stages across Australia, Joshua remains a strong advocate for community theatre and encourages anyone interested in the arts to get involved with their local theatre groups.
